Anascaul Lake/Bearna na Gaoithe – Moderate – 4.5 hrs – 12 kms – Height Gain 650m

Starting from the car park at Anascaul Lake, we have an initial steep ascent of around one and a half hours to reach Cnoc Mhaoilionáin (593m) before following the ridge west to An Bhanóg Thuaidh (641m). We then have a steepish descent to the valley floor to pick up the Garrivagh river, meeting the track that comes from Macha na Bó and then back to our starting point. This walk has great views of Dingle Bay, Inch Beach and the Iveragh Peninsula to the south, and of the Brandon range to the northwest.
